Description
This piece is my first attempt at speed-painting. I originally intended to spend 1 or 2 hours on it, maximum. But...... I got caught up in the details and it ended up taking much longer (more like 8 hours.) So, as a speed-painting experiment, it's a failure. But I like the final result and am glad that I spent the extra time on it.This image is copyright 2007, David L. Sanhueza.

GijsRoest - good point about the highest yellow leaves. I can tone them down.
emagery, chickenfingers - The antlers, yes.... I got really excited about this idea when it first came to me. I thought about what a forest fire needed to make it more personal, and thought of a deer. Then, as it often does, my mind wandered to beautiful and mysterious women. When I did a search on deer for antler shape references, I found that no female deer sport a nice rack, so to speak... I could have sworn that Bambi's mother at least had small antlers.
Thanks again and keep the crits coming!
